The City of Lights with My Love

     Paris has to be one of my favorite cities! I love the food, the culture of the city, and the beauty on almost every corner.  I could not wait to share this city with Sydney and have her love it too.  This particular trip included 3 full days in Paris with a group of adults.  Everyone had things that they wanted to see and do so we tried to go to all of the popular spots while we were there.  Taking a bus tour, especially one that allows you to hop on and hop off, is a great idea when visiting any new city.  It allows you to see the entire city in a couple of hours and decide which parts you want to revisit later.

     If you visit Paris, please take part in a Seine River cruise as the sun sets and then visit the Eiffel Tower at night.  Book these events well ahead of time because tickets to go up on the Eiffel Tower sell out quickly.  Save time between the events to buy a crepe at the food truck on side of the tower and enjoy a carousel ride.  On this particular trip, we went to the very top of the Eiffel Tower.  This is something that I was too afraid to do in the past.  It was amazing!  Sydney enjoyed looking at the lights in the city.  Another must for Paris is the Louvre.   I was afraid to do the Louvre with Sydney.  She has been to museums before but the Louvre is another experience entirely.  I would definitely recommend preplanning for the Louvre if you are traveling with children.  Decide on the pieces or type of art that you want to see.  Use the free map that is available online and plan accordingly.  Strollers are a must for younger children and so is patience.  There are elevators in the Louvre but the waits are long.  If you keep a positive and excited spirit, your children will maintain that same attitude.  Make the trip fun with pictures on the pyramids outside and fun stories about the art you see.

     Sydney loves all things Disney! Disneyland Paris is what has made Paris her favorite city. Disneyland Paris is separated into two parks.  It can be done in one day but I would really recommend that day starting early and ending late.  Disneyland Paris can be reached by subway.  I have taken the subway there before without a child.  On this trip, I utilized Uber.  This was a personal preference because Sydney was over subway rides and I wanted a peaceful day in the parks without an aggravated child.  Our Uber drivers were awesome and it is a service that I recommend using all over the world because it provides a set price for travel and you don’t have to haggle with drivers about prices.  Also, you can watch the route on your phone so you can see if the driver tries to go off course.
