What does teaching have to do with traveling?

       The greatest thing about being a teacher is that you get to love on kids all day long.  They become your children.  You want to nurture them and see them grow.  I love to travel with my students and often times Sydney comes with us because as a single parent I do not have other options for extended child care.  Also, the children love to play with her and she learns a lot from them.  The picture above was taken with one of my students on his first flight.  We were on our way to Washington, DC.  Many of my students were nervous about flying.  I was excited and proud to give them the opportunity to fly for the first time.  It is my prayer that I spark a love for travel and growth in all of my students.  
      The worst thing about teaching is the salary.  Teachers do not make a lot of money but there are many opportunities for teachers to travel.  There are many opportunities for teachers to travel with students that will allow the teacher to travel for free as a group leader.  This can help to cut travel costs when you are traveling with your child because you will only have to pay for your children to travel.  Teachers also have the opportunity to teach in other countries during summer breaks or even for entire school years.  This is another opportunity for adventure for you and your child.  Often times, housing is provided along with a salary.  A great second career for teachers is as a tour guide.  A teaching career provides the skill set needed to become a tour guide.  If you are a single parent and thinking of traveling for an extended period of time with your child, this is a career that will allow you to work while your child attends school wherever you want to go.  If you have any questions about any of these career options, contact me.
